Cherries - Poisoned
Hello everyone!
The last part of my
Keys series (One) is still in progress, so here for you instead is a little story I wrote well over a year ago, free writing after Little Snake said something about fairy tales...if you haven’t noticed, they are a prevailing theme around here (see Scratched and A Spell Of The Deep).
For a few more of these very short story-esque free writes, check into our exclusive Extra Content Blog - subscribe if you haven’t for more works - and find a few more there!

Although it is a bit dark, I hope, as always, you enjoy! And if you don't, you know what to do - comment!
Have a nice day!
-Little Lion
Poisoned

Her fingers and lips stained dark red, she looks up at me, the picture of innocence.
“Do you want one?”
Glistening on her palm are a half dozen cherries, destemmed, with no imperfections.
Poisoned, then.
I warily circle around to the open window, hand on the sword at my side.
“I’m sorry.”
I back up until I hit the windowsill, unsheathe my sword, and jump backwards out the window.
