Cookies - Little Thief
Hello!
Not much to say this week except I hope you enjoy this story! I tried not to give away the ending :)
Tell me how you like it!
All the best,
-Little Lion
She was tasked with getting in, stealing the prize, and getting back out.
  The hardest part?
  Getting in.
The guards were easy. The dogs would be the challenge.
She ducked into a corner, and scoped out the path before her.
A cat, a bird, and a set of iron bars kept her from her prize.
She stepped forward, taking the torch from beside her.
Using the pitch to stick the bird’s feet to it’s perch, and the flames to send the cat racing away to it’s master, she faced the iron bars.
Using a set of lockpicks, she unlocked the bars.
With the metal about to screech, she hides in a corner until the guards have passed.
She pacifies the dog with a handful of meat, and sneaks forward, intent on the bars.
Wrenching open the bars after the coast is clear, she reaches for the prize-
“Kaitlyn, what are you doing? You know those cookies are for dessert.”
The little girl turns, her red dress and white bow bouncing.
  “Okay, Mom.”
She skips out of the kitchen, narrowly missing the dog chewing eagerly on a toy. It's happy it got free from it’s cage.
The little girl runs into her dad, who’s wrestling with his tie.
  “Sorry, sweetheart!”
The little girl sneaks forward, peeking into the living room.
The caged bird looks her way, but wisely stays silent.
Her grandmother is sleeping in a recliner, her shoelaces tied together by who else?
Her little brother takes one look and doubles back into his room.
She smiles, and opens her hand.
She got the prize, after all.
